I decided to draw a shoe that I found at a friends house (they didn't know that I took it but it was okay because I returned it two days later). I feel that the shoe is drawn well but the background makes me -- eh.

It doesn't feel balanced (too much purple, not enough green) but I feel like there is some movement in it; am I right or just crazy or both?

I saw a dead flower on a tree; I drew the dead flower (obviously) but I have no idea about what to do for the background. Input is appreciated.

I saw a dead tree branch and I thought I should draw it (I did). At first I was reluctant to draw it because I thought it would be a lot of work (it was). This is my first actual drawing that is done with graphite so it took about four hours (not too bad). I could have definitely done worse. I would appreciate some constructive criticism, so ya...
