House (Breadth 1)

House
Popsicle Sticks; Aluminum; Acrylic Medium; Hot Glue; (and love...just kidding....there is no love -__-)
I don't know the actual size of this thing so lets just say its the size of two heads

This is a house I made out of Popsicle sticks that are held together with hot glue and I covered it in a acrylic molding paste so the hot glue is no longer ruining visual aesthetic of this thing. Also, I decided to activate the space by using a long sheet of aluminum to make it more "AP-ish." Lets just say that this is conceptual for the hell of it; it could make things interesting. I think that I can still work on it but it depends on the time I have.

  1. Sort of blocky in some areas, consider painting the white part another color.
I like the use of metal, consider the integration of materials and their purpose in future pieces.
I am always amazed at how prolific you are.

  2. The different mediums give your house idea very interesting feeling, and I love it. Maybe paint sth onto the house, like graffiti or in a comic style, sth that tells us a bit more about the house, who lived in it, what it is used for, etc. Amazing job!

  3. I like the concept overall. I know you are going to work on it some more and i would suggest smoothing it out a little bit more because right now it kind of looks like a cake. anyways good job!

  5. i really like the contrast between the metal and the cakeishness. I don't know that much about 3D, but it feels like one side of the house activates space much more than the other. Maybe you could add more metal loopy things on the other side to incorporate more balance in your piece? But it is super interesting when its a little asymmetrical

Neil!! I love the idea of the contrasting elements in the material and form! It looks like you spent a lot of time on it, nice work! My suggestion is maybe try making the metal sheet occupy more space- it could look cool, since it is still a little compact looking now. Anyways you have really good ideas can’t wait to see more of your stuff!

  7. Love it! I like the different materials and the form of the piece. The metal makes it modern and just cooler. I think you can add some color to the house itself (maybe lights too...?) I also like the contrast of the texture. The house has rough edges and surface, where as the metal is smooth and shiny. Great job!!
