Room and In Progress Stuff

This is my room but it needs a little work on the window i think. I would like any advice. NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a landscape painting i did of sand dunes. The grass needs to be more dry looking, i think. I will also put a child lying down on the closest dune right next to the little dots which will become footprints. I want advice, as soon as possible or NOW!!!!!

This is a painting that i don't even know what I'm doing, please help. I may want the eyes to be closed or have this face look likes it's in pain with my yellow headphones on. I don't know but i need advice..... now if you can. NOW....so......do it.
I'm also planning on drawing this picture of "The Lizards" in watercolor and colored pencil. I will increase the amount of yellow and blue just because i like the contrast the colors do for my brain. Figure Drawing

Figure??
18" x 24"
Conte Crayon

Well as you can see this is not even close to done. I need to fix the angles of the box thing that I made and I need to address the background. If anyone has any ideas of what i should put in the background, say them because I really hate making a background. I also need to work on the feet (something that i also hate to draw). All ideas and suggestions are appreciated.

Abstract Sound Painting

Abstract Caterwaul
18" x 26"
Oil Paint

This is my abstract sound painting, that does not look like my painting in person but only because the I could not get the right amount of light exposure when I took the picture.

Figure Drawing

These drawing were all from the two figure drawing classes I took. Some of them are good and some of them are not; I like the idea of documenting my progress so I put them all up.

Pablo Picasso

Many of you may know the famous Spanish artist, Pablo Picasso. He is well known for exploring the abstract and the realistic human figure, however; he has worked through a variety of medias (clay, metal, graphite, oil paint, charcoal, conte crayon... etc). Some of his interesting works consist of  Man with a Guitar, The Bullfight, and Bathers. They are each the product of countless hours of work and clear materialization of his personal beliefs as well as his moods. Because his emotions were so heavily involved in his artistic process, he was easily able to convey his mood through the use of color and resulted in works from his blue and rose periods (Celestina and Lady with a Fan). The Picasso exhibit in the De Young museum  (imported from Paris), displays his artistic achievements. This exhibit is a once in a life time opportunity for people in the Bay Area. See it; it be cool.

Matt Small

????
(Final Stage)
16" x 20"
Water based Oil Paint, Oil Paint, Acrylic and Alkyd

This stage is just a way for me to add additional detail. The hair now has purples and yellows to help balance the hair. The "whisker" marks on the face were also added on to because the hair seemed to large. The background was also made into a more vivid yellow and mixed with a little orange to add a little more depth to the background (but I now see that it could be improved).

????
(Stage 2)
16" x 20"
Water based Oil Paint, Oil Paint, Acrylic and Alkyd

This second stage of the painting process, consisted of creating the hair with light and dark shades of a single color of paint (orange was my preference) and creating those patterns on the face (the ones that look like whiskers). The "whiskers" were made of layers and layers of oil, acrylic and alkyd paint. Then I used a glazing medium on it (it look dry without the medium). I also added a few details here and there to just bring the piece together.

????
(Stage 1)
16'' x 20''
Water based Oil Paint, Oil Paint, Acrylic and Alkyd

I am attempting to replicate the style of Matt Small, who's name has been place in my Inspiration bar to the left. This is the first stage to his paintings block out the lights and darks with a variety of color by using all sorts of paint. The subject is actually of my mother (she was the only one that would pose for me and getting her to do it was still a pain).

Matt Small is a British artist that does paintings, sculptures, prints and drawings in an impressionistic style. His subject material consists of people he finds on the street and he strives to depict them in their quintessential form as perceived through his eyes. He believes the faces communicates nearly everything about a person and therefore devotes each of his paintings to the "individual" (the subject). He doesn't consider himself a conventional artist because of his unique mediums (spray paint, acrylic, oil, etc...) and surfaces (concrete, canvas, scrap metal, wood, etc...). He wants people to feel some emotion from his work, whether it is repulsion, amusement or discontent and that is his goal as an artist.

Gipsy Shoe

Gipsy Shoe
12" x 9"
Graphite and Oil Pastel

I decided to draw a shoe that I found at a friends house (they didn't know that I took it but it was okay because I returned it two days later). I feel that the shoe is drawn well but the background makes me -- eh.
It doesn't feel balanced (too much purple, not enough green) but I feel like there is some movement in it; am I right or just crazy or both?

One Dead

One Dead
12" x 9"
Graphite

I saw a dead flower on a tree; I drew the dead flower (obviously) but I have no idea about what to do for the background. Input is appreciated.

Poor Tree

Poor Tree
11" x 7.5"
Graphite

I saw a dead tree branch and I thought I should draw it (I did). At first I was reluctant to draw it because I thought it would be a lot of work (it was). This is my first actual drawing that is done with graphite so it took about four hours (not too bad). I could have definitely done worse. I would appreciate some constructive criticism, so ya...

Escaping Ink

Escaping Ink
12" x 9"
Charcoal and Pastel

I made this by drawing ink that was poured into a glass bottle filled with water. I took a picture of it and drew the figure with charcoal. I then highlighted it with the white pastel chalk. The background seems rather... not there. If you got any ideas, tell me; I have none.

La Guitara

La Guitara
14'' x 12''
Ink on Watercolor paper

This is a picture of a guitar. It is poorly drawn (I know) and I think it is not finished. It needs more depth and detail to make a strong piece. Tell me what you think.
